On August 11th, seven members of Sungrow USA embarked on the first of hopefully many trips for US personnel to our headquarters in Hefei, China. With members from different teams across the US, it was a great opportunity to not only meet face-to-face with our counterparts in Hefei but also with team members across the organization, thus expanding our knowledge about the company. Before we reached Hefei, we spent our first night in Shanghai, where we had a tour of the city and tried to see as much as we could in one day, all thanks to our very helpful guide, Helen. This included visiting a historical garden, exploring the downtown shopping centers, and sightseeing by the three tallest buildings in Shanghai.
The next day, we headed to Hefei by train and got to see the scenic countryside and impressive development on our way to the HQ. When we arrived, it was an exciting opportunity to meet the teams that we work closely with and have in-person conversations with them, compared to standard text or late-night calls. The HQ team treated us well and were extremely generous, taking us out for meals and also providing us with gifts to bring back to the US.
On our second day at HQ, we toured the Sungrow, which included a walkthrough of the testing facility and R&D center. The facility was massive,
requiring buses to see every different stop. With a busy schedule for the day, we were only able to see the string & central manufacturing process, but it was an incredibly unique experience! To witness the entire birth of a product across one of the lines from the first piece of hardware to shipping was amazing.
For the rest of the week, we continued to meet with different HQ teams, including a couple of customer meetings from around the world. This allowed us to not only learn more about Sungrow but also provide our HQ colleagues with valuable information about the US market. For all of us, the trip was not only an amazing experience but also incredibly valuable. It provided us with the opportunity to engage in direct conversations with colleagues, address questions head-on, and enhance our understanding of Sungrow as a company.
